I didn’t plan for a blogging hiatus, but so much happened in the last few weeks that it was inevitable. Let’s start at the beginning!
After the conference, I hung out in LA for a couple of days with my cousin. We did a few touristy things together–my favorite was the Warner Bros. Studio tour. Many of my favorite movies and television shows, like the Harry Potter movies, Friends, and Gilmore Girls, were filmed or produced there. We also hung out at Venice Beach and ate several delicious meals.
Upon my return from LA, my husband and I finished packing up our rental apartment and prepared to move into our new house! We moved last Friday and have slowly been unpacking ever since. Having spent a week in our house already, we love it!
Then this past Tuesday and Wednesday, I participated in WriteOnCon, the awesome and free online conference. The program was fantastic as usual. I especially loved the Google Hangout live chats. If you missed it, you can still access all of the content on their website! I also posted my query, first 250 words, and first 5 pages of THE RIGHT EXPOSURE to the forums. I received amazing feedback, including a lovely comment from a Ninja Agent. (A bunch of literary agents were trolling the forums anonymously, as Ninjas, to leave feedback and make requests.) I even got a full request!
Now you’re all caught up! It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks but I’m glad to be back. I’ve missed interacting with all of you, so expect more regular posting starting next week. I’m also looking forward to catching up on all of your blogs!
In the meantime, I have a couple of announcements:
2. Kelsey Macke, author of DAMSEL DISTRESSED (out in 2014) and her publisher Spencer Hill Contemporary are hosting a cover design contest for her book. If you win, not only will your design be used for the book, but you’ll also be paid for it! Watch Kelsey’s incredible video here, and check out the book’s website for more details. And spread the word to your artist friends! This is an amazing opportunity.
