YA Buccaneers 2013 Rewind: My Favorite Books of the Year

I hope you aren’t tired of hearing me talk about books! Today’s my last book-related post of the year. And it’s a good one — I’m joining the rest of the YA Buccaneers in sharing my favorite Young Adult/Middle Grade reads of 2013.

After much deliberation (it was tough!), here are my favorite books read this year, in no particular order:

2013 rewind books

I talked about each of these books at least once over the past week, so check out my 2013 YA Superlatives and Top Ten Tuesday posts for more about them. Over at the YA Buccaneers blog, we shared why we loved our favorite book of the year. Since I *had* to choose a favorite, I picked FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell — click here to find out why! While you’re there, you can hop around to the other Buccaneer’s blogs and discover their top 10 books.

Thanks for checking out all my book posts this week. It was fun gushing about my favorite reads. I have a couple more posts planned before the end of the year. Hard to believe 2014 is so close!

What was your favorite book this year?

  1. I pushed FANGIRL on everyone who came to the library looking for something contemporary, and even bought a copy for my summer student who is home from University for the holidays because it’s her life! :-) Rainbow Rowell is my new favourite author this year, without a doubt.

Aside from I HUNT KILLERS, I think your board is the cutest one I’ve seen so far. Great book covers! And now I’m wondering why I haven’t read TWO BOYS KISSING.

    Have a great holiday, Ghenet!

  2. So many good books on your list that I haven’t read yet! I’m told that if I don’t read ELEANOR AND PARK immediately that I will be required to walk the plank. (for realsies)

Hope your Holiday is Shiny and Bright! xo

  3. Great list! I can’t believe I still haven’t read BETTER NATE THAN EVER… I really should bump it to the top. And I’m hearing such great things about RED! SECOND CHANCE SUMMER made me weep on the subway…
